a scene keeps occurring in my writing: a woman is sitting beneath a tree, waiting for something to happen. Life, then, walks up to her, casually, and the woman notices that Life is carrying a book in her hands. It is the Book of Possibilities, a book teeming with birds, and Life asks the woman, “More Life?”
Life’s voice never sounds the same. Sometimes her voice sounds like car horns, sometimes like the splashing of young whales. Sometimes the howls of coyotes, or the hush of water sliding up over a beach of shells.
Life asks you too, “More Life?”
It is a challenge, a dare, an invitation. The Book of Possibilities has opened.
